Article Overview:
This article will cover how you can achieve the following:
How to determine the IP address of the bot used during execution.
Problem Statement:
In certain testing scenarios, users may need to determine the IP address of the bot executing their journeys for tracking, logging, or compliance purposes. However, Virtuoso relies on cloud services, which do not provide static or reserved IP addresses. This can make it challenging to identify the exact IP being used during execution, especially when working with applications that enforce IP-based restrictions or require IP whitelisting.
Solution:
It is not possible to provide the exact IP address used because Virtuoso relies on cloud services and does not have reserved IP addresses.
To document the IP address being used, you can verify it by visiting a third-party IP provider, such as https://checkip.amazonaws.com/ and https://ifconfig.me/ in your journey.
Example:
The output on the Live Authoring browser:
Note: If you are using the Virtuoso bridge client, then the network traffic will originate from your IP address only.
